Obituary of Salvatore Cacciato

SALVATORE CACCIATO, of Paramus, formerly of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at 88 years young. Prior to retiring, he worked for Sun Chemical of Carlstadt, as a maintenance mechanic. Previously, he worked at Buitoni Pasta Company of South Hackensack. He was also a residential landlord at the apartment complex which he and his wife constructed. He was a member of the Fraternal Society of Canicatti, Sicilia, the Italian American Democratic Leadership Council, and the National Organization of Women. After his emigration to the United States in 1959, he sponsored each of his siblings in fulfillment of the American dream. Beloved husband for 56 years of Francesca (nee Martino), devoted father of Rosanna Cacciato-Pansolini and her husband Fabio of River Vale, Lisa Cacciato-Dalgaard and her husband Chris of Dana Point, CA, and Sylvia Cacciato and her husband Dan Nabors of Arlington, VA. Cherished grandfather of Cristina, Michael, Stephen, Gabriella, Luca and Nico. Dearest brother of Maria Ferro of Hackensack, Giovanna Montanti and her husband Vincenzo of Paramus, John Cacciato of Plantation, FL, Michael Cacciato and his wife Josephine of Hackensack, Jack Cacciato of Hackensack, and the late Sister Eleonora, S.C. and Giusepina Guagenti. Loving brother-in-law of Domenica Cammarere of Carlstadt, Steve Martino of Hackensack, Connie D'Angelo of Park Ridge, Joseph Martino and his wife Adele of Washington Township and Maria Teresa Martino of Paramus and the late Pasquale Martino, Antonio Martino, and Eufemia Ricca. The funeral on Monday, December 12th at 10 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, NJ with burial following at Ascension Cemetery of Airmont, NY. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 7 PM. In honor of his love for animals and his beloved childhood horse Stella, the family prefers to honor his memory with a donation to the Almost Home Dog Rescue of NJ – PO Box 610 Allendale, NJ 07401 – 201-906-3395, www.AHDRNJ.com Salvatore courageously fought his battle with Lewy Body- Parkinsons Dementia.
