Obituary of Bernard J. Zoch

Bernard J. Zoch, Jr., a lifelong resident of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the age of 69 years. Prior to retiring in 2008 from Hackensack High School, he was a mathematics teacher for 38 years. He was a parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle R. C. Church of River Edge, a member of the Troast A C of Hackensack, the New Jersey Education Association and the Bergen County Education Association. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Mysliwiec) for 36 years. Devoted father of Michael B. Zoch and his wife Sarah of Hoboken and Kathryn M. Zoch of Hackensack. Cherished grandfather of John Woods Zoch. Dearest brother of Rita Denman and her husband George of Succasunna, Paul Zoch and his wife Doris of Kinnelon, Donald Zoch and his wife Kathy of Lavalette, and Peter Zoch and his wife Maureen of Mahwah. Good friend of Jimmy, Mike, and Ray. The funeral is on Wednesday, December 13th, at 9:45 AM, from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle R. C. Church, 445 Fifth Street, River Edge, with burial following at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. The family prefers, in lieu of flowers, that you honor his memory with a memorial donation to either the St. Peter's Heritage Fund, 445 Fifth St., River Edge, NJ 07661 or the Hackensack SchoolMasters Club Scholarship, c/o Hackensack High School, 135 First St. Hackensack, NJ 07601.
