Obituary of Frank P. Gallitano

FRANK P. GALLITANO of South Hackensack, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Prior to retiring in 1990, he co-owned and operated D & G Landscaping in Ridgefield for many years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member and past officer of the VFW Post #8005 of South Hackensack, a member of the Hackensack Troast Club, Hackensack Boat Jumpers Club, Hackensack Chapter of UNICO, member of the South Hackensack Seniors. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, a member of the St. Francis Socialites, and a member of their Usher's Society. Beloved husband to the late Concetta "Connie" (nee Maggio) who passed away in 2010. Devoted father of Tommy Gallitano of South Hackensack. Loving brother to Mary Cinquemani, Diana Goobic and the late Tommy Gallitano. Frank is also survived by his sister-in-laws Virginia DiMeglio, Joan Maggio, many nieces, nephews and many other close relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his four legged grandson "Santino". The funeral on Monday, April 23, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM for visitation. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Frank's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
