Obituary of Carmen De Riso

Carmen De Riso, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the age of 87 years. Prior to retiring, Carmen was a supervisor for Public Service Electric and Gas Company of Hackensack. Carmen proudly served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from he United States Navy in 1955. He was a faithful parishioner at St. Francis R. C. Church in Hackensack where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, Usher's Society and the Socialites. He was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign War Post # 8005 of South Hackensack. Beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Amore) for 64 years. Devoted son of the late Pasquale De Riso and Marianna (nee Roma) De Riso. Devoted father of Cheryl Schwartz and her husband Paul Fischer of Monmouth Junction and Janice Duffy and her husband Charles of Monroe, Connecticut. Cherished grandfather of Sarah and her husband James, Travis, Charles, Zachary, and Liam. The funeral on Wednesday, January 29th, at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Francis R. C. Church 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Those that desire may honor his memory with a memorial donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
