I was very sorry to learn of Lenny’s passing. I served on the Hackensack Environmental Commission with Lenny years ago. He was always fighting for the cause and inspiring us to do good things. My condolences to the family. I know he will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Lenny's passing. We haven't been in touch for many years. But my memories of growing up together are as vivid as the day they occurred.
We once went to Watkins Glen for a race weekend. We weren't old enough to drive yet, so Mrs. Nix drove us there and we planned to take a bus back. It was a big event with world renowned drivers. Ken Miles who is portrayed in the recent movie, Ford vs Ferrari was there, along with Jim Clark, who was the Formula 1 champion of the 1963.
By the time Sunday rolled around we had spent our bus money on food and beer. So we put our thumb out and started hitchhiking. It was quite an adventure, we met some real characters, went through a swarm of locust that covered the windshield of one of our ride and wound up in Yonkers around 6am Monday morning. Where we took the subway into Manhattan to 178th St and hitched a ride across the GW back to Hackensack. He never told our parents we hitchhiked back.
Rest in peace my friend,
Tim McGinn
