Obituary of Martina V Luna

Martina V. Luna (nee Santos), of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the age of 92 years. Born in Jima Bonao, Dominican Republic, she came to this country in 1973 settling in New York and came to Hackensack in 1974. She was a faithful parishioner at Holy Trinity R. C. Church of Hackensack. Beloved wife of the late Dionicio Luna who passed away in 2011. Devoted mother of Nery Bido and her husband Francisco of Hackensack, Felipe Luna and his wife Angie of Staten Island, Antera Fernandez and her husband Juan of Demarest, Maria Luna of Hackensack, Lydia Cabral and her husband Tony of Bogota, Miguel Luna and his wife Mirna of Staten Island, Martha Bernechea and her husband Jose Antonio of Glen Rock, Luis Luna and Shannon Griffin of West Milford and Rosa Mole and her husband Anthony of Patterson, NY, 31 Grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Dearest sister of Angelica Lora of New York City, Matilde Tineo of Hackensack, Juana Hernandez of New York City, Esmeralda Hernandez of Hackensack, Bienbenida Rosario and her husband Alcadio of Hackensack, and the late Angel Dario Santos, Lidia Hierro, and Celeste Rosario. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27th at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. For those attending the Mass and Burial kindly maintain social distancing and wear masks at all times. The family prefers in lieu of flowers that you honor her memory with a memorial donation to either the Maryknoll Sisters, PO Box 317, Maryknoll, NY 10545 or Holy Trinity Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
