Obituary of JoAnn Caccavone

Mrs. JoAnn Caccavone, age 72(39 if you asked her), passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Cumming, GA from a tough battle with liver cancer. She was the loving wife of Gus. They were blessed to have shared 53 years of a beautiful marriage together. Gus says of their marriage, "it was filled with many laughs and very little tears". She was born in Patterson, NJ on January 16, 1949. JoAnn was raised in Lodi, NJ; the daughter of Wanda & Jacob Fatzer. In 1968 she married her sweetheart, Gus, and they were blessed 10 years later with their son Augie. In 1985 a job opportunity for Gus took them down south to Georgia where she has lived ever since. For many years she was a Greeting Card Merchandiser for CVS stores in Georgia and retired from that in 2017. She will always be remembered and cherished by her family & friends for her love & kindness, the many laughs she shared, and her incredible talent of creating fantastically delicious meals for everyone! She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband Gus Caccavone, her son & daughter-in-law Augie & Lauren Caccavone of Canton, Ga, her sister & brother-in-law Barbara & Dennis Entwistle of Homasassa, Fl, her brother & sister-in-law George & Carol Fatzer of Rockaway, NJ, 9 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nephews and 1 grand furbaby. She was predeceased by her parents Wanda & Jacob Fatzer and her brother Raymond Fatzer Sr. The viewing/visitation will be held from 2-7pm on Monday, March 22, 2021 at The G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10am at the Funeral Home with interment following at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Ave, Lodi, NJ Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to: West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition – www.wcgcc.org in JoAnn's memory.
