Obituary of Margaret Squillace

Margaret (Mickey) Squillace, of Little Ferry, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16th, 2021 just 6 weeks short of her 100th birthday. Mickey was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years Carmen. Mickey was a devoted mother to Jean Maglio and her late husband Tony, Rosemarie Fojtlin and her husband Tom, and the late Angela and Robert Narducci. She was born Calabria, Italy, then came to the United States at the age of 5. Her family settled in Hackensack, NJ where she lived with her loving parents Carmelo and Angelina Polifronio and her 5 siblings- The late Catherine Zoccoli, The late Paul Polifronio, Joe Polifronio, May D'Arminio and the late Dominick Polifronio. She met Carmen in Hackensack where they married and lived with her beloved mother and father- in- law, Matteo and Vincenza. They began raising their cherished daughters there before moving to Little Ferry in 1965. Mickey was an amazing wife and mother while also working for over 30 years at Goldberg's Slipper Factory. Mickey was loved by her family, friends, and just about anyone that had the pleasure of spending time with her. She will be remembered for her strength, grace, dignity, warmth, compassion, laughter, and of course her meatballs. Mickey will be missed immensely by her treasured children and her grandchildren Michele and Jeff Calendrillo, Anthony and Alicia Maglio, Michael and Kate Maglio, Bobby Narducci, Dawn Plump and Nick Bush, Matthew and Amanda Narducci, Kimberly and John Petrillo, and Melissa Narducci. She is also survived by her 10 adoring great grandchildren, her sister May and brother Joe, sister-in-law Mela and Rose, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will begin on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at 8:45 AM at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack. Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum, 501 Bergenwood Road, Fairview. The Family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation.
