Obituary of Alfred R Rando

Alfred "Al" Rando, formerly of Hackensack, Oradell, and Cape May passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the age of 90 years. Prior to retiring, he was an Electrical Engineer for Bendix American Manufacturing and Engineering Company in Teterboro. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He loved his travels throughout Europe and had always hoped to return one day. To know Al was to love him. He was always willing to lend a hand. He loved volunteering and being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cape May. He was an avid gardener who won an award for his meticulous grounds and beautiful gardens at their home in their beloved Cape May. He also loved birding, fishing, and the outdoors. They built their dream home in Cape May where they vacationed for many years and then lived for 25 beautiful years. Cape May will always be home for the family, having many wonderful memories together on the beach. Beloved husband of Marie (nee DeFazio) for 64 years. Devoted father of Mark Rando, Marcy Rando and Kerri Gutierrez and her husband Jose. Loving grandfather of Joseph and Kyle. Dearest brother of the late Johanna, Paul, Sal, Ida Maejunes, Rose Taylor, and Joseph. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and also survived by his former daughter in law Laurie and many other loving relatives and friends. Prayer Service will be on Thursday, May 20th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. The family prefers that you honor his memory in lieu of flowers with a memorial donation to Kiwanis Club of Cape May, 1041 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ 08204.
