Obituary of Anthony M Passaro

ANTHONY MICHAEL PASSARO, of Sterling, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Virginia, at the age of 85 years. He was born in Hackensack, NJ, lived in Upper Saddle River, NJ for 29 years and was the loving husband of Lee M. Brown Passaro for 51 years until she pre-deceased him in 2010. Devoted father of Lisa Schneider and her husband Ted of Tasmania, Australia, Michael Passaro and his wife Linda of Upper Saddle River, NJ, and John Passaro and his wife Jackie of Sterling, VA. Cherished grandfather of Leeann, Allissa, Luke and Matthew. He is also survived by his brothers, Dominick Passaro and his wife Joan of Fair Lawn, NJ and Joseph Passaro of Nazareth, PA. 'Tony' had a long career of over 28 years as the Executive Director of the Bergen Community Regional Blood Center in Paramus, NJ where he was admired by the employees for his 'walk-around' style of management. He was active in the Paramus Rotary Club and served as the President helping raise funds to support the "Rotarian' which was one of the regions first mobile blood donation vehicles. After retirement, Tony enjoyed designing and running Scoupe de Ville, an iconic 50's style ice cream parlor in Ramsey, NJ. He had a love of cars from his teenage years which culminated in owning a Rolls Royce Corniche convertible. Tony loved good wine and cooking and rarely followed a recipe working from experience and taste. Never having a pet growing up, he loved teaching tricks to all the 'Grand Pets' and always kept a supply of treats nearby. Tony also enjoyed travel starting with a trip to Europe with his father during his college years to many family trips to favorite places including Florida, Bermuda, Australia, Hawaii, Germany and Italy. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 31st from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1st, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following at Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
