Hello Maureen's Family,
One Saturday in about 1951, my mom and I were doing our weekly grocery shopping and ran into my cousin, Alice Romain, Jim Osborn's fiancée. I loved Alice, always wished she were my big sister. My mom asked her how Jim was; then Alice invited me to come on a picnic with Jim and his niece, Maureen. Alice was driving her big, white Chevy convertible; she picked me up (three blocks from her house) and we headed for the Paterson bus station where we picked up Jim and Maureen, and went to Ringwood Manor. Maureen and I hit it off like old friends and decided to become pen pals. We wrote to each other through grade school, then went our separate directions but were reunited at both Alice's and Jim's funerals. She was like a ray of sunshine coming in through a window, always so cheerful. We talked about families (I never married, have no children), but I was happy to hear about all of you. Thank you for giving her a fulfilling life!
