Obituary of Mary K. Uddgren
Mary K. Uddgren (nee Valla), of South Hackensack, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the age of 96 years. Mary was honored with other women in 1976 - Women in Industry for Achieving Managerial Status in the Business World. She began her career in 1958 with Springfield Instrument Company. Throughout the years she received promotions to reward her - for her untiring efforts - which played an important role in making Springfield Instrument a leading manufacture in the U.S.A... She repeatedly demonstrated her ability to perceive and solve problems over and above those connected to her position. Mary received letters of congratulation from Betty Ford and Brendan T. Byrne, former Gov. of N.J… Mary was a member of St. Margaret's Rosary Society of Little Ferry and The Senior Citizens of South Hackensack - plus she and three of her friends started the Motivated Matrons Chapter #43853 of the Red Hat Society - she was the Queen Mother. Mary's goal in life was to help others. She will be missed by all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Uddgren (1999). Loving sister of the late John Valla, Joan Tomesch and Pauline Johnson. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends and The Maceri family who watched over her for years, especially Tony Maceri. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Wednesday, February 5th, at 8:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church, 31 Chamberlain Avenue, Little Ferry, NJ, with entombment following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
