Obituary of Maria Teresa Webster
Maria Teresa Webster, 87, of Guttenberg, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Hackensack Medical Center.
Maria was born on December 27, 1937, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Carmela and Miguel Palomeque. A woman of exceptional strength and determination, Maria was known for her fierce independence and her relentless work ethic but most important her love and faith in God. She was a true go-getter who never took no for an answer and paved her own way with grace and resilience.
She built a career in the fashion industry, working at Christian Dior as a seamstress and sample maker, and also had a successful business in the garment industry sewing clothes for Norma Kamali, Billy Jack and many more.
Maria is survived by her brother Carlos Palomeque; her children Ana Vidal-Kaufman and spouse Steven of NYC, Julio Michael Vidal and spouse Rosemarie of Fair Lawn, NJ, Felix O. Vidal and spouse Lana of Morrisville, NC, and Jaime A. Vidal and spouse Caroline of NYC. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Eric, Jessica, Arielle, Andre, Felix Jr., Joseph, David, Antonio, Nina, and Emma, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She will be remembered not only for her love of family and her kindness, sharp sense of style, and entrepreneurial spirit, but for the strength, tenacity, and pride she carried in everything she did.

Visitation will be held at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Friday, April 25th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
