Obituary of William M. Panagia

William M. Panagia, of South Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1955 – 1957, he was also an active member and former Fire Chief for the South Hackensack Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the South Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance Corps, member of the planning board and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Hackensack. Devoted son to the late Joseph Panagia and Elizabeth (nee Acker). Beloved husband of 64 years to Grace Jean (nee Falato). Loving father of William Panagia and his partner Sonia, Jess Panagia and his wife Lisa and Adam Panagia and his wife Wendy. Cherished grandfather of Sadie, Casey, Lindsay and Noah Jon. Dearest brother of the late Joseph Panagia and his wife Marie and Dennis Panagia and his wife Geri. The Funeral will begin on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM for visitation at the funeral home.
