Donna R. Cohen Obituary

The Legacy of The Late Donna Rosemary Cohen

Born on July 20, 1965, in Kingston, Jamaica. Donna was one of ten children born to the late Mary and Frank Wilson. She was raised in a close-knit, faith-filled household where she learned the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance. Though her parents and some siblings have gone before her, Donna's memory will forever be held in the hearts of her four surviving sisters and three brothers, all of whom she loved deeply.

Donna received her early education at St. Annie's Infant and Primary School and later attended Tivoli High School, where she was known for her vibrant personality, quiet strength, and caring nature. After completing school, she entered the workforce with great determination, beginning her career in the Free-Zone Garment Industry in Kingston, Jamaica.

In 1998, seeking new opportunities, Donna migrated to Grand Cayman, where she embraced a new chapter in the hospitality industry. Her commitment to excellence and warm demeanor earned her a respected place in every workplace she joined. In 2003, Donna moved to the United States, where she continued her hospitality career at the Hylton Hotel and later made a lasting impact during her ten years of service at Hackensack Meridian Health. Her colleagues admired her dedication, humility, and unfailing grace.

In 1984, Donna met Patrick Cohen, the man who would become her lifelong partner and best friend. Their love story blossomed over the years, and in 2000, they were joined in holy matrimony in Grand Cayman. Their marriage was a testament to love, resilience, and shared faith. Patrick remained by her side through every triumph and challenge, a constant source of love and support.

Donna was the proud and devoted mother of one daughter, Kimica, whom she loved with all her heart. Her joy expanded with the arrival of three grandchildren (Serena, Dominick, and Imani), who lovingly called her Grandma. Her heart swelled with even more pride and joy when she welcomed her first great-grandson, Joshua, a light in her life during her later years.

To know Donna was to experience kindness in its purest form. She carried a quiet strength and a calming presence that touched all who crossed her path. Her advice always wise and her love unconditional. She adored her extended family and played an active role in the lives of her many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews, as well as her relatives and friends both in the United States and Grand Cayman.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. She is survived by her beloved husband, her devoted daughter, three treasured grandchildren, one precious great-grandson, seven siblings, and a host of extended family and dear friends whose lives she enriched.

Though our hearts are broken by her departure, we rejoice in the memory of a life so beautifully lived. Donna's love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.

May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her memory forever be a blessing.
