Vincenzo "Enzo" LiFonti of Elmwood Park, NJ formerly Hackensack, passed away peacefully, surround by his loving family, on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the age of 80 years. Born on the Island of Sicily, Italy, he came to the United States in 1970, settling in Hackensack, before moving to Elmwood Park, NJ. Prior to retiring he worked as a foreman for R A Hamilton Corporation in Hackensack for many years. He was a member of Local #472, and a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church both in Hackensack. Enzo was an avid gardener, who spent countless hours tending to his beautiful flowers and his beloved tomato plants. His passion for making his home and garden a place of beauty was recognized when he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Most Beautiful House in Elmwood Park-an honor he cherished deeply. Above all, Enzo was a devoted family man. He adored spending time with his loved ones, especially his granddaughter, Gwen Marie, with whom he shared a special bond filled with love, laughter, and lots of silliness. Sunday dinners were sacred in the LiFonti household-a weekly tradition he deeply valued, bringing his family together around the table, just as he had always done growing up. Beloved husband of 51 years to Laura J. (nee Salto). Loving father of Joanna Marie LiFonti-Primus and her husband Curt. Cherished Nonno of Gwen Marie. Dearest brother of Angelo LiFonti and his wife Marianne, Tita Giordano and her late husband Sal, Maria Scaccia and her late husband Filipe, the late Concetta DiTinco and her late husband Nick, and the late Nino LiFonti and his wife Pina. The Funeral will begin from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Saturday, July 12th, at 8:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, NJ, with entombment following at Fairview Cemetery and Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11th, from 2:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
