Riccardo Siclari Obituary

In Loving Memory of Riccardo Siclari

January 15, 1969 – August 1, 2025

Riccardo Siclari, 56, of Little Ferry, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, after a courageous ten-year battle with a rare, incurable genetic condition known as Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalomyopathy (MNGIE).

Born on January 15, 1969, in Cittanova, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Riccardo immigrated with his family to Hackensack, NJ in 1974, and later settled in Little Ferry in 1982, where he spent the rest of his life surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Riccardo is lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Giuseppe and Caterina Siclari; his beloved siblings, Tiziana and Adolfo; his sister-in-law, Laura; and his treasured nephew and nieces, Christian, Gabriella, and Julia, whom he loved as if they were his own children. He is also survived by many cousins and their families. Riccardo is reunited in peace with his late Uncle Rodolfo, Aunt Pina, and his Nonno Salvatore.

Riccardo had a deep appreciation for life's simplest and most beautiful moments—especially those spent at the family table, sharing meals, laughter, and conversation with the people he loved most. He was passionate about sports and was always in search of the best pizza and sushi spots, turning those outings into cherished memories with his family.

Though his life was marked by physical hardship, Riccardo's resilience, humor, and warmth left an indelible impact on everyone who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to share in his life.

Riccardo's final resting place will be in his beloved hometown of Cittanova, Italy, alongside his Nonno and other dear family members.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Church of the Annunciation, 50 West Midland Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Riccardo's memory to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF), Visit https://umdf.org/ whose mission is to support research, education, and advocacy for those affected by mitochondrial disease.
