Carl Joseph Magnifico, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on September 6, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; his daughter Sandra, her husband Anthony and their children Gabriella, Gianna, Grace, Antonia, and Alessandra; his son Michael, his wife Lauren and their children Ava, Adrianna, and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Harriet, and will be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends. At just 17 years old, Carl answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy and proudly served in Vietnam. After receiving an honorable discharge, his commitment to service continued throughout his life; Carl began his lifelong career in law enforcement with the Maywood Police Department and went on to serve with distinction as a Sergeant with the Hackensack Police Department. After retirement, his passion for protecting and serving led him to join the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, where he ultimately retired a second time, but continued to work as a Railroad Officer on the NY Susquehanna and Western Railway line. Carl was proud to be a member of PBA Local #9 and the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club, where camaraderie and service to others remained at the heart of his life. Outside of his professional and community commitments, Carl found joy in the outdoors. Prior to his illness, he cherished time spent at his Pennsylvania property, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by the peace of nature. Above all, Carl's happiest moments were those spent with his family, especially his cherished children and grandchildren. Carl will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his generous spirit, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His memory will live on through the family and community he so deeply touched. Visitation will be held at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Thursday, September 11th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon, with a prayer service beginning at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus.
