Joan B. Basile (nee Barth) of Mahwah, formerly of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Hackensack, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years, on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Alfred F. Basile Jr. with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage, until his passing in 2019. Loving mother of Sharon Acaster and her partner Jon Fisher, Carol J. Carollo and her husband Joseph, Eddie Basile and his wife Elisa, Patrick Basile and the late Michael A. Basile. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren: Ashley, Allie, Christina, Samantha, Aiden and Hunter and great-grandmother of Brynlee.

Joan loved spending her days out at various shopping centers and caring for the children she fostered.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. A burial will follow on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack.
