With great sadness, we regret to inform you that Myrle Christmas of Hackensack, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87 years on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from complications of Lung Cancer. Myrle was born in Wesley Village, Commonwealth of Dominica on July 6th, 1938 and prior to retiring, her loving and caring nature led her to work as a private Home Health Aide for many years in Barbados and the US. Not one to sit idle and enjoy retirement, Myrle kept busy by taking care of others by volunteering at the Martin Luther King Senior Center until her health started to fail. She was a quiet, kind and humble woman who loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them.

Myrle was the devoted daughter of the late Enoch and Gwendalene (MaGwen) Christmas; loving mother of Clavis Christmas, Cheron Christmas-LaFleur and Esther Reid; and dedicated grandmother to Chanelle Christmas-LaFleur.

Dearest sister of Rose Wiltshire, Jude Adams (deceased), Hiram Christmas (deceased), Merilis Gregoire, Theona Prosper (deceased), Gibson Christmas, Webster Christmas, Chrissie Andrew, Joseph Christmas, Erickson Christmas & Reginald Christmas.

Loving Aunt & friend of many. Lifelong friend of Ina Smith. Godmother to Chelsea. Cherished family friend of Bruce Chamberlin, Joseph & Mary Crevani (deceased),

Irene & Gary (deceased) Maruggi, Gloria Zembriski & John Brady (deceased), and Yolanda Auditore (deceased) & Lisa Zembriski (deceased).

The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff at Care One at Wellington for their care, dedication and kindness these past few months of her life.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Hackensack United Methodist Church, 400 Summit Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601 with a short repast to follow downstairs in Steward Hall.

The service will be live-streamed via the Church's YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@hackensackumc2035)
