Carlos Esteban Nunez, of Hackensack, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 60.
Born on December 4, 1964, in Bonao, Dominican Republic, Carlos immigrated with his family to Queens, NY, in 1989. In 1996, he and his family settled in Hackensack, NJ, where he spent the rest of his life surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Carlos is survived by his devoted wife, Claritza Hiciano De Nunez; his beloved children, Edwin E. Nunez, Karina Nunez, Emelyn M. Pias, and Kristopher Nunez; his cherished son-in-law, Kevin Pias; and his adored granddaughter, Julianna M. Pias. He is also survived by his loving mother, Maria Casilda Castillo; his beloved sisters, Daysi Fermin, Griselda Nunez, and brother Felipe Nunez; and six nieces and nephews whom he deeply loved and who brought him endless joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Esteban Nunez.
Carlos was a determined man who took great pride in his many hobbies, including freshwater and saltwater fishing, bike riding, scenic walks, and cheering for his favorite baseball team, the New York Mets. He loved working on projects with his sons, spending quality time with his loved ones, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Those who knew Carlos will remember him for his charisma, gentleness, generosity, patience, and kindness. His warm presence filled every room he entered, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be missed greatly and remembered always with love.

Nació el 4 de diciembre de 1964 en Bonao, República Dominicana. En 1989, Carlos emigró con su familia a Queens, Nueva York. En 1996, él y su familia se establecieron en Hackensack, Nueva Jersey, donde pasó el resto de su vida rodeado del amor de su familia y amigos.
Carlos deja atrás a su amada esposa, Claritza Hiciano de Núñez; sus queridos hijos, Edwin E. Núñez, Karina Núñez, Emelyn M. Pias y Kristopher Núñez; su apreciado yerno, Kevin Pias; y su adorada nieta, Julianna M. Pias.
También le sobreviven su querida madre, María Casilda Castillo; sus amadas hermanas, Daysi Fermín, Griselda Núñez, y su hermano Felipe Núñez; así como seis sobrinos y sobrinas a quienes amaba profundamente y que le brindaron una alegría infinita. Le precedió en la muerte su padre, Esteban Núñez.
Carlos fue un hombre determinado que sentía gran orgullo por sus muchos pasatiempos, incluyendo la pesca en agua dulce y salada, andar en bicicleta, disfrutar de caminatas escénicas y apoyar con entusiasmo a su equipo de béisbol favorito, los New York Mets.
