We were “ gifted” Ric to our family when his son married our daughter. That led to a lot of fun family times. Then with the arrival of the little ones Ric became a great co-grandparent. Being from the South I showed Ric 101 ways to cook a pork chop and he showed me his Italian dishes. My favorite was the scaccia he would make on Christmas Eve. Several times a year we would all end up at the Rosa’s house overnight. Then the next morning we would get up very early— which grandparents do—and enjoy breakfast. This was before we all “ got our ears” so we couldn’t hear each but we would sit at the table and drink our coffee and smile at each other and do our puzzles. Ric did his soduku and I did my crosswords. Love and respect can be shared even without words. We will miss Ric in our lives.
