Orlando R. Tarra Obituary

Orlando Rafael Tarra, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his home, at the age of 87 years. Born in Cartagena, Colombia, he came to this country in 1969 settling in Hackensack. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Superintendent for the Hackensack Housing Authority in Hackensack for many years. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church of Hackensack. Beloved husband for 54 years to the late Maria C. Tarra (De Marin) 2018. Devoted father of Yomira Tarra of Hackensack, Nidia Cerullo and her husband Kenneth of Mahwah, Luz Tarra of Hackensack, and Andres Tarra and his wife Jackie of Wayne. Cherished grandfather Anthony, Vanessa, Jennifer, Matthew, Paizley, Camila, and Mia. Dearest brother of Eugenio Alfaro. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Funeral will begin on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 8:45 AM at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus.
