Yolanda R. Carnevale Obituary

Yolanda Rosina Carnevale, 97, passed away on Easter Sunday. April 6, 2026. Yolanda was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ, where she met her husband Joe. They resided in South Hackensack and were married for 70 years. She was the youngest of eight children and always spoke proudly of her siblings. She was a devoted wife and proud great grandmother known as Grammie. She was kind hearted and loved her family. She often told jokes, usually the same ones, and each time it was funnier than the last. She was the light in the room every time she walked in. She collected "beanie babies" and had almost 200. She and Joe made many friends at the South Hackensack Senior Club and always looked forward to the Atlantic City bus trips. She had a knack at winning at playing cards and even won first prize at the Meadowlands poker tournament at 85 years old. Above all else, she found happiness being with her family. She is survived by her three children, Liz Leonardo, and her husband Ron, Joe Carnevale and his wife Agnes, and John Carnevale and his wife Joanne and her cherished grandchildren Nicole (Anthony), Brian (Nicole) Lindsay (Cody) Brian (Laura) Sarah (Mike) and great grandchildren Sophia, Anthony, Gavin, Maxwell, Asher, Paxton, Maclen, Kayla, Emerson, and Reece.

Visitation will be held at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ on Thursday morning, April 9, 2026 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
