Obituary of Hermes E. Jimenez

HERMES E. JIMENEZ, SR., of Elmwood Park, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Holy Name Hospital at the age of 75 years. Born in Santa Marta, Colombia he came to the United States in 1967 looking for Silvia, the love of his life. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Hackensack, NJ. Loving husband of Silvia Jimenez for 48 years and knew each other for more than 50 years. Devoted father of Monica Palmer and her husband David of Fair Lawn, Hermes Jimenez Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Elmwood Park and Robert Jimenez and his wife Laura of Rochelle Park. Loving grandfather of Anthony Jimenez Mendieta, Brianna Jimenez, and Gabriella Jimenez Palmer. Loving twin brother of Humberto Jimenez and wife Yolanda of Ridgefield Park and loving brother of Rosalba Jimenez de Figueroa and husband Gabriel of Ridgefield Park, and predeceased by loving older brother Hector Jimenez of Hoboken NJ. Hermes is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral will begin on Friday, April 7, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo's R.C. Church, 324 Market St, Elmwood Park, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM for visitation.
