Obituary of Catherine Wascha

CATHERINE WASCHA, age 81 of Little Ferry, NJ now peacefully at rest on April 7, 2010, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Ms. Wascha was predeceased by her parents Henry and Mamie Wascha of Little Ferry, NJ. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister Eleanor Longo of Hackensack, whom she considered not only her sister but her best friend through out her life and her husband Frank Longo. Also survived by her brothers, the late William Wascha and the late Henry Wascha; both of Little Ferry. Her devoted Nieces Linda Longo of Wood-Ridge and Diane Longo of Hackensack and her Nephew Alan Wascha and his wife Joyce of Little Ferry. She was loving great aunt to Carrie Williams of Whippany and Patrick Williams of Hackensack. She was also so fortunate to have close family friends Lili Mala and her daughter Renata of Hackensack. Catherine lived in Little Ferry and Hackensack, NJ for all her life. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church and worked for the Bergen County Courthouse Jury commission for over 23 years before retiring. Through out her life she was an avid successful Bowler and a passionate Bingo player who always had a smile and a kind word for every person that touched her life. She was committed to her family and friends and will always be remembered as a devoted "second mom" to her nieces Linda and Diane. Her kindness, selflessness and support will serve her well now resting in peace in heaven. She will be missed more than words can say! A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 10:45 AM. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM for visiting. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Park Cemetery, Hackensack. Donations may be made in Ms. Wascha's name to the: Hospice Inpatient Unit (7th floor), 336 Prospect Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
