Obituary of Kathleen L. Amodio-Frerot

Kathleen Redstone Frerot passed away peacefully on August 2nd under the loving watch of her husband Al Frerot, and her son Jesse Amodio. Kathleen was born on November 3, 1949, the third child in a family of 12 siblings. She was proudly the only one of the 12 to have been born in her father's neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, NYC. The family moved to Hackensack soon after she was born. She attended Holy Trinity and graduated from Hackensack High School. She loved life. She loved everything about being alive. Hers was a challenging life, but she met every single challenge with a fierce sense of humor. As a single mom she dedicated herself completely to raising her two special needs children. When she met Al she found a life partner who adored her and her sons, and shared her appreciation for a great meal, dark humor, and deep laughter. She was employed since 1992 by InterChem in Paramus, where she was able to flourish professionally and to be a part of an amazing work family. She fought a long, tough battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and saw her way to the other side of it, but the passing of her son, Jason, in 2020 was too much for her to bear. Her physical and mental health steadily declined. But her love of family and a good laugh never did. Along with Al and Jesse, Kathleen will be greatly missed by all of her siblings, her in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, a slew of nieces and nephews, and many friends and coworkers. In memory of Kathleen, the family requests that you hug your children tight, hold your loved ones close, and laugh loudly with them any chance you get. A memorial service will be held at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack on August 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 3:30 PM.
