Obituary of Athena Savoglou

ATHENA PALAMIDIS SAVOGLOU, of Norwood, formerly of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the age of 96 years. Prior to retiring, she was the chef at Paul's Market in Hackensack for 25 years. Beloved wife of the late Vasilios Savoglou who died in 2002. Devoted mother of Maria Papadatos and her husband James of Old Tappan, Eugenia Zisa and her husband Peter of Old Tappan, Christopher Savoglou and his wife Michele of Upper Saddle River, and Patty DeMaio and her husband Bart of Old Tappan. Loving grandmother of Leo and his fiance Mary, Billy and his wife Helen, Frank, Jennifer, Christen and her fiance Joseph, Athena, and Ashley. Cherished great grandmother of Kelsey, Zachary, Demetrios and Nikolas. Dearest sister of Panagiotis, Nicholas, Haralambos, Olga, Odysseus and Anastasios Palamidis. The funeral on Monday, March 9th at 8:30 AM from the funeral home. The Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Avenue, Wyckoff with entombment following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Trisaghion Sunday 3:00 PM.
