Obituary of Lazlo I. Matis

LAZLO I. MATIS , of Haskell, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the age of 61 years. Born in Papa, Hungary, he came to this country in 1957 and lived in Englewood and lived for 17 years in Haskell. He was a roofer for Plesha Roofing Company of Norwood. He was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's Church in Englewood. Beloved father of Angela Candela and her husband Mario of Elmwood Park and also his namesake Laszlo Wagner. Loving fiancé of Robin Lis of Haskell. Cherished grandfather of Joseph, Vincenza, and Anthony. Adored companions Scotty, Holly and Star. Devoted son of Roza Patyi of Englewood. Dearest brother of Dunci Karodly of Hungary, Gyuri Torok of Newfoundland , Ildiko Patyi of Fairview, Iboyla Farley of Redlands, California, Marianna Pignatelli of Fairview and Joseph Patyi of Garnerville. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral on Thursday, November 29th, at 9:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia's Church, 55 West Demarest Avenue, Englewood followed by entombment at Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Washington Township. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7- 9 PM and Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7- 9 PM
