Obituary of Ronald J. Mc Gill

RONALD J. MC GILL, of Midland Park, died on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Prior to retiring in 1983 he worked for the Bergen County Prosecutor Office as a County Detective for 25 years. He was a Life member of the PBA local # 221 of Hackensack, Ronald was the first Bergen County Patrolman to receive The Bergen County Freeholders Grand Juror Valor Award in 1959. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post # 55 of Hackensack, Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O. Elks # 658 of Hackensack, where he was awarded Elk of the year in 1980.He was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. Beloved husband for 54 years to Betty Ann (nee Luczak). Loving father of Ronald J. Mc Gill Jr. of Prospect Park, Thomas Mc Gill of Missouri, Andrew Mc Gill of Florida, Patrick Mc Gill and his wife Carol of Wayne and Kevin Mc Gill of Hackensack. Cherished grandfather of Sheri Ann, Shane, Betty Ann, Andrew, Jacklynn, Ryan and Kimberly Ann. Great-grandfather of four. Dearest brother of Kenneth Mc Gill of Florida. Ronald is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Funeral on Saturday, November 21, at 8:30 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM. In Lieu of Flowers please make donations to The St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
