Obituary of Rosa Maria Morales

ROSA MARIA OCHOA MORALES, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the age of 83 years. Born in Zaruma, Ecuador, she came to this country in 1965 settling in Hackensack. Prior to retiring she was a graphic artist for Chase Manhattan Bank of New York. She was a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church where she was a member of the Secular Franciscans. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Hackensack University Medical Center for more than 25 years. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Beloved wife of the late Jorge Morales who died in 1964. Devoted mother of Jorge E. Morales and his wife Barbara of Broadlands, VA, Maria Abrahamsen and her husband Robert of Hackensack, and Manuel Morales and his wife Anne Marie of West Nyack, NY. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Matthew, Andrew, Ryan and Sarah and great grandmother of Brinley Rose. Dearest sister of Luz Lopez, Yvone Ochoa, and Piedad Pazmino. The funeral on Saturday, November 29th, at 8:45 AM, from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis R. C. Church at 10:00 AM with burial following at Maryrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 - 8 PM. The family prefers in lieu of flowers that you honor her memory with a memorial donation to St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601, to be used for the church renovations.
