Obituary of Helen Jeanne Newman

HELEN JEANNE MANN NEWMAN, of Hackensack , died on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the age of 86 years. Before retiring she was a school teacher where she taught English and Latin. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hackensack where she sang in the choir and also taught Sunday school. She was active in the Bergen County Historical Society and volunteered for many years as a Docent in the Steuben House. Beloved wife of Albert “Gus” Newman. Loving mother of Lois Newman of Chicago, Tom Newman and his wife Monica of Hawthorne, Edward “Ned” Newman and his wife Debbie of Maywood and Neal Newman and his wife Maureen of Middlefield, NY. Cherished grandmother of10 grandchildren and 5 Great-Grand Children. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 12:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 64 Passaic Street , Hackensack . Visiting will be on Monday evening from 7 – 9 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hackensack Cemetery , Hackensack .
