Obituary of Carl E. Padovano

CARL E. PADOVANO, JR., of Mahwah, passed away on April 1, 2014 at the age of 57. Carl was born in Tallman, NY on April 23, 1957 to Kathryn A. Padovano (nee Sellarole) and the late Carl E. Padovano. His father was so proud to finally have a son, and his four older sisters were thrilled to have a sweet ten-pound baby brother. The family moved to Hackensack in 1967, where his father was the Superintendent of Hackensack schools. It was there where Carl returned from a Christmas pageant in 7th grade and told his Mom, “I just saw an angel, and I’m going to marry her.” That angel was his loving and devoted wife of 33 wonderful years, Linda Padovano (nee Oswald). The two were married on April 25th, 1981 at First Presbyterian Church in Hackensack. Carl was a graduate of Hackensack High School ’75, and Colgate University ’79, where he held numerous football records as a star player on both teams. Carl traveled the country as a top salesman for Winchester rifles, and later founded Bergen Computer Company in 1987. Carl was a kind, gentle and loving soul who could turn any ordinary moment into an adventure. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his wisdom, undying strength, courage and loyalty. Carl loved fishing and crabbing on his boat, ‘Slim Coyote’, hiking with his loyal dog Peaches and savoring every moment of life to the fullest. He is survived by his adoring wife Linda Padovano (nee Oswald), their children: his protégé Kaylin, his best buddy Carl O. and his faithful sidekick Jaclyn, his cherished sisters Virginia Millard (nee Padovano), Patricia Padovano, Kathryn Padovano and Gianina Padovano, faithful brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, his adoring nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends from all walks of life. Our memories of Carl have become our song, and we will sing it forever. The Funeral on Saturday April 5th at 10:45 AM from the funeral home.
