May My DEAR FRIEND Rest In Heavenly Peace. Word have not been written that can describe how my heart feels at this moment. I will always remember the way she made me feel when I spoke to her and if it went to long she would call me just to say I LOVE YOU. I Know that GOD needed angels but we on earth needed her too. I will pray everyday that I can a fraction of the woman that she was. I will LOVE and MISS Gwen McLoud, My friend as long as I live. Love Always and Forever

My deepest sympathy is extended to the family to Soror Gwendolyn McCloud. Soror McCloud and I met in the late seventies when I moved to Teaneck. She has always been an inspiration to me. I pray that you know that weeping endures for the night but joy comes in the morning.

I met Gwen several years ago in, of all places, the parking garage in The Pierre apartments in Hackensack. Our cars were parked face to face. We began to talk one day and continued to talk through the years not only in the garage, but on the phone, in the lobby or wherever we bunked into one another.
She was a very special person in so many ways. I found her to be a kind and loving woman with a smile that would light up the room. She had so much life in her and loved to talk about her students, or as she called them, her children.
I will sorely miss her, but I know there's a beautiful place in heaven just for her.

Please accept our sincere Condolences. Gwendolyn McLoud was our dear
neighbor on Bedford Avenue in Teaneck for many years. My parents Mary and
Bob Hughes lived across the street and were close with both Gwen and her
mother Mrs. Fox. My Mom use to say Mrs. Fox was her best friend. We all thought the world of both of them. Now Gwen will be sadly missed also. Do to

Gwen, was a mother to many, a teacher to all and a dear friend to me. I always told her I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She was a great leader for our Outreach Committee she taught me a lot and we both loved the playing the piano. She would call me on a Monday night without a Hello it was, Benny how do I record, “Dancing with the Stars” it was quite the norm for her and I. It turned into our weekly ritual. It was like girls night out without leaving the house. But, boy she dislike the remote and Cable Company. I would tell her she would be ok. Then she would say, how did you get to so smart. I would laugh. Gwen you were the spirit of youth. You taught us all to enjoy what we have and forget all the negativity in the world. You leave us today but a little of you has been pour into all our hearts and we will keep your spirit alive every day. I will miss you Mama Gwen. You are now dancing and singing with the angels. Nelson, Abe, Amanda and I love you and will miss you.

I am saddened by the passing of my (last living) aunt - Gwendolyn McLoud. I had just spoken with her by phone on May 5th, just a few days after her 91st birthday while I was on my way home from work. She had such a great sense of humor that we laughed a great deal of our conversation! I currently live in Atlanta, GA but, unfortunately, will not make it to the funeral..
.
One of my fondest childhood memories is a trip my father William (Uncle Raiford's older brother) took my mother, brother and myself on was a summer trip to Teaneck, NJ to visit Uncle Raiford and Aunt Gwen. Aunt Gwen fueled the love of music in me that I still have to this day. May she rest in eternal peace.
