To the Coyle Family,
Please accept my sincerest condolences as you mourn Brian's loss. I served a one year tour as the Superintendent at the New York Military Academy from August 2013 - June 2014. During a difficult period, Brian and I met on several occasions and he always showed great respect for his academy and the people committed to its return to greatness. He was kind, respectful and determined to be a positive force in the school’s revitalization. I had and will continue to have the greatest respect for his character and love of NYMA. He was a man of God and will be remembered most for his love of family and service to others. I am sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Tom Kastner

To my brother cadet, Brian, I was shocked by your passing. Although we were separated by 10 NYMA graduating classes, we shared our love for NYMA and worked together for several years to ensure it's continued future. I moved from the area, as you continued to work to make a difference till your final days. I will reflect on the good times we had together, along with the recent knowledge of how you served others. It is evident that you lived, the para-phased quote of Stephen Grellet, etched in the halls of NYMA:
I shall pass though this world but once.
Any good therefore that I can do or kindness that I can show to any other cadet,
let me do it now.
Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

Losing Brian will be felt throughout the NYMA family for many years to come. His tireless efforts on behalf of alumni, cadets and the
academy personified the selfless person that he was. He was always ready to step into the breach and make things happen. His cell phone continuously monitored the remaining number of days until Alumni weekend or Homecoming thereafter. It was always NYMA, NYMA, NYMA.
A man of grace, decentcy and Christian virtues Brian's broad smile and positive attitude will be an indelible part of his academy legacy. He leaves many friends behind and I am honored to be counted among them.
GOD will bless him as often as Brian has done GOD's work. HIS blessings will abound.
Patty and Brian's daughters have lost the special rock in their lives. My hope is they can and will endure the pain because of the good memories and reminders of the devotion he had to being a loving husband and father. I will miss him dearly! May GOD Bless him and keep him in the palm of HIS hand...Sal Alfano '60

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. May God almighty father of tender mercies and all comfort continue to strengthen you all (2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4). We all indeed look forward to the fulfillment of God's promise to completely remove death, tears, mourning, outcry and pain (Revelation 21:4). The Bible also provides assurance that in God's Kingdom, our dead loved ones will be brought back to life ( John 5:25). May these promises from God bring you comfort. Dear Patty and family
I don't know what to say, or how I/we can truly express how sorry we are for your loss. Brian was a great man, a great friend and a part of our family as are you and the girls. Words, no matter how caring and heartfelt they may be can never truly give you the comfort you need, at this time. I wish we could be there, if for nothing else, to be able to give you a big hug and let you cry on our shoulders. He was a wonderful man, so involved with NYMA, your church, his community and his family. I hope you can take comfort from all the love that is coming your way. I know in the future, as you re-read all the loving messages, you will be able to smile and take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and what he meant to everyone.
His passing is a true shock, that nobody can ever prepare for. It truly shows us how short life can be, and how we need to treasure and cherish every moment with the ones we love. I know that you can take great comfort in knowing that he now sits with God and will always continue to look after you and the girls. His physical presence may be gone, but his love and memories will live forever within your heart.
Just know, that we will always be there for you and the girls. If you need a shoulder to cry on... please call. If you need advise....please call. If the girls need a shoulder, advise or just to talk about their dad, please have them call.
I wish I could say more that would help with the pain you are going through, Just know that we love you and our sorrow also runs deep with the loss of Brian.
