Obituary of Anthony J. Maglio

ANTHONY J. MAGLIO, 71, of South Hackensack, passed away on Monday, April 4th, after fighting a long, brave battle against cancer. Born and raised in Hackensack, he was the loving son of Fred and Faye Maglio. He was in the Army Reserves and worked at the Bergen Record for 36 years, then for the Journal News before retiring. Tony was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law Carmen Squillace and brother-in-law Robert Narducci. He is survived by the love of his life, Jean, his devoted children Michele and Jeff Calendrillo, Anthony and Alicia Maglio, and Michael and Kate Maglio. The lights of his life, his grandchildren Evan, Ryan, Michael, Matthew and Jake. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Maglio, mother-in-law Mickey Squillace, sister-in-law Angela Narducci, sister-in-law Rosemarie and her husband Tom Fojtlin, loving nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Tony cherished his time spent with family and friends. He loved vacationing and enjoyed delicious Italian food - both cooking his own and eating out; always with a good bottle of wine and surrounded by loved ones. The funeral will begin at 10:45 AM from the funerral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at 12 PM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, with private cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8th from 1 – 3 & 6 – 9 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Anthony's memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
