Obituary of Olga M. Puglisi

OLGA PUGLIS, 91, of Glendale, AZ, and Hackensack, NJ passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016. Olga was born in Antwerp, Belgium on June 1, 1924. She was a kind and loving woman, who lived a long and full life. During World War II she was commended for her participation as a member of the Belgian Underground for hiding American soldiers from the Nazis. Following the war, Olga, who had American citizenship at birth, came to the U.S. and attended Columbia University in New York City, where she also worked. She married Philip G. Puglisi and they raised their five children in Teaneck, NJ. She is survived by her children, Rita Ramsperger (Jimi McDonough) of Wyckoff, Noelle Puglisi of Hackensack, Philip Puglis of Ramsey, and Colette Puglisi of Glendale, AZ. She was predeceased by her adughter, Christine Puglisi of Scottsdale, AZ; eight grandchildren, Erin O'Neill (Shawn Oliver), Alison Mazza, Daniel Mazza (Bonnie), Caitlin Ramsperger, Nicole McLaughlin (Johnny), Kailey Mullis, Samantha Puglisi, and Mateo Puglisi; and five great-grandchildren (with one on the way) Braden, Natalie, Riley, Joey, and Owen; and her sisters Maggy (Joe Farina), Betty (Skip Weaver), Nicole (Col. Bill Reilly) and predeceased by brothers Jacques (Frances), Pierre (Ghislane), Billy (Ethel), and many loving nieces and nephews. Olga loved and enjoyed life with lots of laughter and fun. Most important to her was her Family. She was loved by all who knew her. Our hearts ache for what we have loved and lost. A memorial service will be held on April 17, 2016, at the funeral home from 1-4 PM.
