Obituary of Michael J. Formisano

MICHAEL J. FORMISANO, of Hillsborough, formerly of Moonachie, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the age of 90. Prior to retirement, he was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Jersey City, where he received numerous citations for exemplary service, twice for heroism. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during WWII. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Baloga). Loving step-father of Robert Pettinato and his wife Josephine of Somerset, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Karen and Thomas Cumello of Branchburg, NJ, Kim and Frank Perrone of Neshanic Station, NJ. Great-grandfather of Marisa, Alexa, Matthew and Gabriella. Dearest brother of the late Lucille Naples. Michael is also survived by four nephews Ronnie, Anthony, Steven and Thomas and many friends. The funeral will begin on Thursday April 21, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 31 Chamberlain Ave, Little Ferry, NJ at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Michael's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
