Obituary of Walter R. Smith

WALTER R. SMITH, o f Hackensack died on Sunday April 20, 2008 at Bergen Health Care Center in Rockleigh, at the age of 80 years. Prior to retiring he was an educational publisher for Scott Forseman Company of Oakland. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Beloved husband of Barbara M. (nee Messenger). Devoted father of Victoria Farhi and her husband Michael of Hackensack, David Smith of Virginia and Robert Smith and his wife Maura Daly of Montclair . Loving Grandfather of Ben, Joel, Owen and Liam. Dearest brother of Madeline Elliot, Muriel Shelgren, and the late Bud Smith, James Smith, Grace Smith and Laura Moroney. Cherished brother-in-law of Charles Messenger. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with entombment following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus .Visiting will be on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 PM.
