Obituary of Barbara E. Dodd

BARBARA E. STRAUSS DODD age 86, of Saratoga Springs, NY, formerly of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, at home, in the arms of her husband on Monday, April 10, 2017. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School (Brownson High) Hackensack, NJ, where she excelled in many school plays and musical productions. She briefly sang professionally but forego a career in music to travel with her husband in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Returning to Hackensack she was active in Holy Trinity Church, choir, mother's guild, chairwoman for numerous charitable events, and Girls Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was a licensed real estate sales person but found her fulfillment and joy in being a homemaker. Beloved wife of Mr. Ralph P. Dodd for 65 years. Loving mother of Mr. Robert P. Dodd and his wife Terri of Wyckoff, Dr. Gregory P. Dodd and his wife Vicki of Saratoga Springs and the late Diane M. Sexton (2013). Cherished grandmother of Melissa, Emily, Erika, Zach and Kelsey. Devoted great grandmother of Ceara. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday April 15th, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14th, from 2:00 - 4:00 and from 7:00 – 9:00 PM for visitation.
