Obituary of Carmela Mea

CARMELA DI PIAZZA MEA of South Hackensack, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, at the age of 81 years. Prior to retiring she worked as a foreman for Goldberg Slipper Factory in Hackensack for 38 years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Hackensack. Carmela loved to cook for her family; she was also an avid gardener, who loved to shop. Beloved wife to Mario Mea for 47 years. Cherished mother of Domenick Mea of South Hackensack. Devoted daughter of the late Michael Di Piazza and the late Rosa (nee Tagliarino). Dearest sister to the late Vincenzo Di Piazza and his wife the late Vincenza, Connie Trupio and her husband the late Frank of South Hackensack, Francesca Fragapane and her husband Angelo of South Hackensack and the late Giuseppe Di Piazza. Carmela is also survived by her nieces and nephews Rosa Gallina, Al Trupio, Michael Trupio, Michael Di Piazza, Gaetano Fragapane and Rosa Padla, adored great aunt to Vito, Frank, Margaret, Antoinette, Vincent, Gina, Angelo, Jack, Angelo and Gianna. The funeral on Monday, October 16, at 9:15 AM at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM for visitation.
