Obituary of Vincent F. Pastore

Vincent F. Pastore, of North Haledon formerly of Washington Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the age of 75 years. Born and raised in Teaneck, he lived in Washington Township and lived in North Haledon since 2005. He received both his BA and MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University of Teaneck. Prior to retiring, he was the Director of Imports for Phillips Van Heusen Corporation of Bridgewater and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Women's Resource Center of Somerset Events, United Way Sample Sales which contributed thousands of dollars to various charities in Somerset, Toys for Tots, 9/11 NYC Firefighters fundraising, Hurricane Relief Efforts, 2010 Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund and the NYC Winter Coat Drives. Vincent also served on the Homeland Security Committee at Bridgewater after 9/11 to formulate plans to better secure shipping containers brought into the US with regard to terrorism. He received an award from the US Department of Transportation given him by the Undersecretary of Transportation at the US Merchant Marine Academy for using American shipping lines and US Merchant Marines to transport products for Phillips Van Heusen. Beloved husband of Josephine P. (nee Oddo) for 52 years. Devoted father of Michele Scrofani and her husband Richard of North Haledon and Jennifer Pastore of North Haledon. Cherished grandfather of Gianna, Daniela, and Isabella Scrofani. Dearest brother of Francis Pastore and his wife Inez of East Port, ME and the late Rose Aletta and her husband the late John Aletta. Loving brother in law of Louis Oddo and his wife Karen of Haworth. He is also adored by many nieces. nephews, cousins, and friends. The funeral on Wednesday May 23rd, at 9:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, with entombment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM.
