Obituary of Giovanni A. Pertuz

GIOVANNI A. PERTUZ, a resident of Mahwah, formerly of Elmwood Park and born in Hackensack, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the age of 49 years. He was the proud and devoted father of two beautiful children, Matthew and Nicole; loving husband to Linda (nee Garbutt), cherished son of Jaime and Marlene Pertuz and dearest brother of Jaime Pertuz of Elmwood Park and Steven D. Pertuz of Westwood. He graduated from Hackensack High School in the class of 1987 and went on to become a successful businessman in the commercial fire alarm and electrical contracting industry for over 20 years as owner of Master Fire & Electric in Mahwah. He was a dedicated fireman of the Mahwah Volunteer Fire Department, Company No. 2, and always put the concerns of his family, his friends and his community with his service before his own. He raised the ranks in over 12 years to become Company No. 2 President and took this honor with great pride and dedication. His ability to touch the lives of so many with his infectious personality and smile were unique in and of itself as he truly had a heart of gold. He was a die hard New York Giants and Yankees fan that also loved the history of the game. Giovanni will be remembered by so many as the ultimate family man, the model for community service and the ultimate optimist even in the most of difficult of times. You will be missed by so many. On behalf of your family, friends and the entire Mahwah Fire Department, Company No. 2 and beyond, WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS GIO! YOU WILL BE MISSED AND IN OUR HEARTS ALWAYS BUT NEVER FORGETTEN!. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 30th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm and from 6:00pm - 9:00pm for visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 31, 10:30 AM at Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 47 Island rd, Mahwah, NJ 07430, with burial following at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers donations can go to gofundme for Linda Pertuz and children.
