Obituary of Annette Garafano

Annette M "Snooky" Garafano (nee Trobiano), a lifelong resident of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the age of 87 years. Prior to retiring she was the Construction Coordinator at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises of Hackensack. Beloved wife of the late John Garafano Jr. who died in 2001. Devoted mother of Francine Bouchard and her husband Paul of Brick and Joni Sanzari and her husband David of Saddle River. Cherished grandmother of Brad and MariePorrino, Dana and Ryan Jareck, Lisa and Ned Britt, and Ryan Sanzari  and Sezen Karacay. Adored great grandmother of Reagan, Griffin, Graydon, Cole and Kennedy. Dearest sister of Angela Sproviero of Brick, Anthony Trobiano and his late wife Marilyn of Hackensack, and the late Francine Caruso Sousa and her husband Donald of Lyndhurst. Loving niece of Lillian Miello of Hackensack. Dear sister in law of Lucille Garofano and her husband the late Salvatore. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Her whole life was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid sports enthusiast and would travel anywhere to witness any of her grandchildren participating in a sporting event. She was a proud and loyal fan of the New York Giants and was so excited to see them win. The funeral on Monday, October 1st, at 9:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack with burial following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 - 6 PM.
