Obituary of Cira Sutera

Cira Sutera (nee Gualemi), of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the age of 95 years. Born in Marineo, Sicily, she came to this country in 1935 settling in Little Ferry and lived in Hackensack since 1946. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a seamstress and also helped her husband with his catering business. She was a parishioner at St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack, a member of Ladies of Unico and the Red Hat Society. Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Sutera who died in 2007. Devoted mother of Victor M. Sutera and his wife Diana of Montvale and the late Francine Vinci and her husband Matthew of Englewood Cliffs. Cherished grandmother of Christie Hanrahan and her husband Sean, Matthew Vinci, Gregory Sutera, Lauren Vinci, and Michael Vinci. Adored great grandmother of Tyler and Teagan. Dearest sister of the late Francesca Raimondi, Andrew Gualemi and Carmelino Gualemi. The funeral on Tuesday, October 2nd, at 9:45 AM, from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, at St. Francis R. C. Church with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7 - 9 PM. The family prefers that you honor her memory with a memorial donation to St. Francis R. C.
