Obituary of Edna Adams

Edna Adams (nee Santiago), died peacefully on June 12, 2019 at age 95 at Westwind Manor in Franklin NJ. She was born November 8, 1923, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Victor Adams, son David Adams, her siblings (Ruben, Elva, Esther, Emma, Estela, Elsa, Evangelina, Eneida, Edelmira) and her parents, Jose Justo Santiago and Ramona Vazquez of Bayamon PR. As a young woman, Edna worked for McGraw Hill Company. After giving birth to her first child, Alba, she became a homemaker. Additionally, she was an active member of the United Methodist Church where she participated as treasurer and secretary. She also ministered to women at a Correctional Facility in N.Y. Edna's favorite holiday was Christmas because that was when she was able to enjoy quality time with her family. In her last years, she was able to travel. She lived in Italy with her daughter, Evelyn and also spent some time with her other daughter, Alba, in England. Most recently, she spent time with her granddaughter, Jennifer in Hamburg NJ and later moved into the Westwind Manor (retirement home) in Franklin NJ before her passing. She is survived by her three children, Alba Hummersone, Victor Adams, Evelyn Bishop and granddaughters, Jennifer McGrogan, Erika Foley, Stacey Mazzacane, and Nicole Minutello; grandsons James Davila, William and Caleb Bishop and great-grand daughters; Dakota, Lianna and Penelope, great-grandsons; Nick, and Bradley.The funeral will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 10pm-12pm at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union St, Hackensack, NJ. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, 535 Hudson St, Hackensack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edna's name to the Alzheimer's Association @ ALZ.org
