Obituary of Ater Joseph Guelly-Dier

Ater Joseph Guelly-Dier, of Teaneck, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the age of 36 years old. He was born in Khartoum, Sudan to Joseph Mathubier Guelly and Rebecca Achol Muortat. He grew up in a large family with four siblings, Sammy, Awet, Angair and Nyiwat. Ater was a man who had three over-riding passions in life; his family, basketball, and learning- including a particular interest in engineering. He nurtured them all with energy, dedication and courage. Ater is survived by his mother Rebbeca, his siblings- Sammy, Awet, Angair, and Nyiwat. He is also survived by his wife of eight years Arek Ajo Deng and his two year old son Mathubier. And a host of family member and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ.
