Obituary of Charles P. McAuliffe

Charles P. McAuliffe, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the age of 75 years. Charles proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force in 1966. Prior to retiring in 1993, he was a Staff Sergeant First Class for the United States Army. He served as Councilman for the City of Hackensack from 2005 - 2009. He was a member of American Legion Post # 415 of Saddle Brook, Director of the Bergen County Harley Owner's Group of Rochelle Park, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Merkle) for 52 years. Loving father of Charles McAuliffe and his wife Carla of Staten Island, NY, Corinne Carroll and her husband Kelly of Hackensack, Christen McAuliffe of Hollywood, FL and Candice McAuliffe of Hackensack. Loving grandfather of Mackenzie, Michaela, Nicholas, Julia, Gabriel and Gavin. Charles is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. The funeral on Wednesday, February 10th, at 10:15 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 400 Maywood Ave, Maywood, with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM. The family prefers in lieu of flowers that you honor Charles' memory with a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
