Obituary of Emilio Competiello

Emilio Competiello, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the age of 89 years. He was born in S. Angelo Dei Lombardi, Italy and came to the United States in 1970. Prior to retiring, he worked for J. Fletcher Creamer Construction Company in Hackensack for many years. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Hackensack. Emilio loved tending to his vegetable garden and being around his loving family. Beloved husband to the late Incoronata Competiello for 63 years. Devoted father of Antonietta Gallo and her husband Dominic of Brooklyn, Filomena Cetta and her husband Michael of Port Washington, NY, and Frank Competiello and his wife Maria of South Hackensack. Loving grandfather of Angela and Lorenzo, Giuseppe and Antonietta, Anthony and Vanessa, Emilio and Regina, Michael and Mary, Francesco, and Daniel. Cherished great grandfather of Michael, Dominic, Michael, Giovanni, Joseph, Adriana, Anthony, Vincent, Antonio and Gia. Dearest brother to the late Pietro, Michele, Carmine, Victorio and Maddalena Competiello. Emilio is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Funeral will begin on Monday August 30, 2021, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 PM for visitation.
