Obituary of Collette C. Scarpeachi
Collette C. Scarpeachi (nee Pepe), of Hackensack, passed away on Wednesday September 15th 2021 at the age of 98 years. Prior to retiring she had worked as a private care giver for many years, she also worked as a secretary for the American Book Publishing Company in Saddle Brook. She was a member of the Hackensack Chapter of Unico, the Golden Ages, Rosebuds, the Socialites, Children of Mary, and she was an active parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack where she was involved in the St. Joseph Committee, food pantry and in the choir as a soprano soloist. Collette loved cooking for her loving family, her gardening, floral design, candy making, going to Atlantic City, dancing, singing, but most of all God, her Family, Church and her Country. Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Scarpeachi (1973). Devoted mother of Mary Ann Tamberelli and John A. Scarpeachi and his companion Brenda. Loving grandmother of Anthony and his wife Kathy, Marcie and her Fiancee Joseph Gentile and Jennifer and great grandmother of Nadia, Anthony Luca, Adrianna and Joseph. Dearest sister of Rose Ascolese and Annette Salvadeo. Collette is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, several God children and many close and loving friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents Anthony and Teresa Pepe, her brothers Daniel, John, Anthony and sister Philomena. To know Collette was to love her, she will be truly missed by all. The funeral will begin on Monday, September 20, at 8:30 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM for visitation.
